Stubborn like Mommy

We think that Joshua is close to rolling over, but he freezes and starts crying whenever he gets too close.  Something Andy and I have really enjoyed is Joshua laughing and "talking".  When he's really having fun he will laugh out loud now.  I enjoy my little chats with him too.  We have somewhat of a reciprocal conversation; but I don't think either of us know what the other is saying.  It is amazing how fast Josh i growing!  I get sad each time I put away clothes that he's worn so much or hasn't even had a chance to wear.  I take joy in seeing him grow and learn, but I'm already missing some of his earlier stages.

Now that Joshua can hold his head up pretty well he can use his jumping car.

3 Months Old

Joshua is 3 months old today and he decided to have a blow-out to celebrate!  When I say blow-out I don't mean party.  Joshua has had regular diaper blow-outs.  I switched him from size 1 diapers to size 2 which has helped some.  They tend to occur just after I've put a clean outfit on him.

Joshua seems to change and do new things from one day to the next.  He still loves to play on his play-mat, but is content to do so by himself for a while.  While he plays he laughs and "talks" a lot more than last month.  Josh can withstand a longer period of tummy time now.  He holds his head up for quite some time before getting tired and fussy.  His obsession with the ceiling fan has dissipated  and he now loves staring at that cute baby in the mirror above his play-mat.

Last weekend we got to visit with friends and family.  Saturday I took Joshua to see Ashley, Bill and Brady.  The boys played while Ashley and I talked.  Then we went for a walk and played a bit more before heading home.  On Easter, we went to church with Andy's parents and grandparents.  Afterward we went to Andy's grandparents house to visit.  I was excited to get a picture I've been wanting for a while.

After relaxing at home for a bit we ran a few quick errands and headed over to Grandma Hart's.  We kept things casual and ordered pizza for dinner.  Joshua got his first Easter basket from Grandma Blackmer.

Things got a little stressful when Joshua was continuously fussy.  Everyone took their turn trying to calm him down.  Even Grandma Hart was unsuccessful.  Andy seemed to be the charmer and got him to stop crying.  We decided Joshua had been a little over-stimulated with all the places we'd been and people we'd seen.  Once we got home, he was happy as can be on his play-mat.  Joshua loves his mommy and daddy, but also enjoys some time to be alone and play.
