The past 2 weeks Joshua has been working on 2 more teeth. He already had the 2 front, bottom teeth. The next bottom tooth seems to be coming in well without any real problems. His first top tooth, however, is being a little stubborn. You can see it poking through, but it is taking its sweet time. With teething this time around, came a fever. When I picked him up from Terri's one day she said she thought he was a bit warm. When we got home and took his temperature, our suspicions were correct. He had a 100.6 fever that lingered about 2 or 3 days. During this time he was cranky, sleepy, and insistent on constant cuddles. Oddly enough, this is when he started sleeping through the night (he has since gone back to waking up at least once a night). Hopefully this tooth pops through the rest of the way and we can go back to normal, happy Joshua.
Joshua's latest achievements are giving high-fives and clapping. He even likes to grab my hands and make me clap. His fine motor skills are improving and he can feed himself some of his snacks. He loves to stand up while holding on to things. The other day I bought him a little play table with buttons and things on it to play with. He really enjoys standing at it and playing. He even wiggles his butt when it plays music. Josh has still yet to crawl, although he has made slight movements backward. I also bought him a walker which he's used a few times to cruise around the kitchen a bit. We just have to make sure that Agger is outside when Josh is in the walker.
Harvest has begun and Joshua went for his first combine ride one day when Terri had an appointment. He loved watching the bean head spin around while Uncle Bob drove. Unfortunately since it is harvest, we don't usually see Andy until dark. He is happy to play with Joshua then while I make dinner.
